Welcome to Rave History.
A magical time remembered through the medium of moving image. Your gateway to a library of rave footage and memories. An online time machine charting chapters of the acid house movement through to popular dance culture.
Please note that Rave History does not offer downloads or endorse copyright infringement. My youTube is down currently and I shall be getting it all back up in the next few weeks along with the new site !!
Things are progressing. I have spent a long time meeting people, chatting and qualifying what I write and collecting content.
I am by rights, an archivist of the rave scene. Without sounding like an old git, back in the day it was a life style choice and not just a choice of where to go at the weekend. We lived it.
If you would like to write an article about a club or night out which you would like to see included in the site then please make it fact based, maybe funny and something which will be of interest to others. I will get it up as long as it’s not a shameless plug to something overly commercial or generally naff.
I want this site to live on long after I'm driving a Volvo and wearing tweed jackets with leather arm patches ...although I'll still be wearing Adidas Sambas and a Tag watch to set it off.
To blatantly plagiarise Nick Hornby "No man is an Island they say....... well if pushed I'd have to be Ibiza"
I might look more like Chris Moyle's than Peter Andre these days but ... but I am still, in my soul a wide eyed 16 year old wearing a Stussy hat, Destroy top and a twisted grin. A bottle of poppers in my hand and a clipper lighter in my back pocket.
This site is a reflection of my humour and my view of the late 80’s to early 90s. A chav free world without loads of knife crime and silly mobile ring tones.
No Facebook, better quality drug's and less pretentious moody's.
Ssseessshhhh am I getting old ?...
Now as the good after party host once said "My house is your house ....just wipe your feet on the way in"
